Raising the Curtain…Raising the Bar

The Rialto Café was born unto Denver in 1998 within the space once occupied by Joslin’s Department Store.  In keeping with tradition of the era, Rialto shines with décor reminiscent of a roaring 40’s theater house, and significantly so…Rialto is named after The Rialto Theater which once resided around the corner on Curtis Street, just a half a block from the current 16th Street Mall.  Shades of mahogany and chic track lighting accompany a friendly and fluent staff and consistently delicious culinary and cocktail creations.

Since our inception, we have been committed to providing an affluent, yet comfortable atmosphere for business travelers, tourists, long time locals and new transplants.  By these standards, our staff shines at center stage…From the prep kitchen, housed in the basement of the adjoining Courtyard Marriott, to the line cooks and chefs in our open air kitchen to our welcoming and knowledgeable front of the house service staff, Rialto is more than just a restaurant on “The Mall.”  It’s a gathering space for friends and colleagues who want to experience the same diligent quality and service with each visit.   You could compare it to Cheers…After a few visits someone on our staff will “know your name” each time you return.

Since the beginning, we have realized our competition.  With hundreds of restaurants lining the corridors of downtown Denver, we knew we needed something to set us apart.  Our staff does just that.  A motto passed down from the owners of the company is this…”You can get a hamburger anywhere…People come back here to socialize with the people who turn the wheels of the restaurant.”

Over the years, Denver has seen many changes…Sometimes you want to experience a certain familiarity amidst the evolution of the city.  We hold steadfast to our standards, as our longtime resident locals and repeat business travelers will attest.  However, with the old, we balance the new.  In the coming months, we will bring to you new menu items, seasonal drink lists, lunch features and daily specials.  You can find all of it here.  Keep in touch, tell us what you need.  We will make it happen, all while keeping with the tradition established within these four walls nearly fifteen years ago.
